‘The Wreck of the Titanic’ Musical

On Monday the 16th of April 2012, the musical ‘The Wreck of the Titanic’ was performed at the Sands Centre, Carlisle.  The musical featured a number of different types of musical ensemble. Performers included children’s and youth choirs, county youth orchestra and Wider Opportunities groups. Opportunities for children and young people to compose and perform their own music were included through the six open-ended composition ‘windows’. Vocal soloists, a music technology group, the Titanic’s eight-piece band from the Lancashire Sinfonietta and two actors completed the ensemble. During 2012, performances of ‘The Wreck of the Titanic’ will take place in towns and cities with Titanic  connections. These will  include Southampton, Gateshead, Bristol, and Cherbourg in France.
